the new (insert F-word) young

if you looked at stomp these few days, you might wanna take a look at the one on acjc students tying up their friend to a chin-up pole and tormenting her allegedly on her birthday.
things seem to be getting from bad to worse. from the time we were in secondary school, people began to have the idea that you should get surrounded and pummelled on your back by a group of "friends" a number of times equal to your age. i never understood the significance of it. thankfully, no one ever touched me on my birthday. it appears that these people think it's cool to be doing it. i can't make any sense of it. i find it a work of undeveloped brains. probably no better than the homo erectus.
what exactly was the purpose of the beating? is being different and extreme the idea? if that is it, then it was definitely an attention-seeking act. for how else can one explain the acts of the acjc students.
not only was the idea horrible, it was beyond what i or anyone else could comprehend - to humiliate a friend. any suggestion that the girl was enjoying it simply exemplifies the immaturity. imagine you yourself gets treated like that. if you think you'd enjoy it, well, you're probably in to masochism too.
it's little wonder why the number of teachers are declining. it's no wonder why people quit teaching after the bond ends. with students like these, who needs terrorists? the act of tying up the hands against the poles and trying to tape the mouth didn't look much different from a kidnap. except that it wasn't really a ransom-seeking one.
the horrifying truth is that a staff simply reprimanded the students for messing up the place instead of taking notice of how the girl needs help. or rather, the "friends" need help. they need serious help. they are not taught properly. they need someone to tell them academic excellence does not make one a better person. you need morals, ethics and respect for others.
seriously, the staff needs counselling too. he was either blind or too cowardice to stop the act. or perhaps he wanted to appear as a "cool" person who doesn't mind such acts. but one that condones such acts is nothing more than a dit. he's a staff, i'm sure he has the authority to stop that. at the very least, release the girl.
i'm beginning to see why people preferred to be home-schooled.
the students are bad enough... and the staff are not helping.
