expiry date - 2nd feboctoprilember 2007
Monday, June 25, 2007 (5:57 PM)
i have always been perturbed by the apparent inconsistency in expiry date prints. some manufacturers decided to do the dd.mm.yy format while others try to be funny and do the mm.dd.yy format. it isn't half as bad if they do state which format they are using. the problem comes in when the format is assumed to be 'mutually understood'. it's twice the disaster when some decide to shift the year right to the front in either yy.mm.dd or yy.dd.mm.
of course if i bought something today and see the print as either 24.02.07 or 02.24.07, i would logically understand it to be 24th february 2007 rather than 2nd feboctoprilember 2007, whatever that means. the even bigger problem is when the print reads 09.04.07. so the first logical conclusion is it can't be expiring in 2009. then 07 must be the year. and today being the 25th of june doesn't help because this product could very well have expired a good 2 and a half months ago or it could possibly last for another 2 months-odd.
so what's the best way to find out? call them? why the trouble? just eat it and results will show in a matter of hours.
till i get discharged, see ya!
