i heard this story during service at my cousin's church and i thought it was a really good one:
a tightrope walker was standing at the top of a very tall building. from the building, a rope was tied across to the next building across the street. a huge crowd had gathered below to watch this feat.
before he began, he shouted to the crowd below, "DO YOU BELIEVE I CAN DO IT~?" and the crowd shouted, "YES WE DO~!!!" the tightrope walker shouted again, "DO YOU BELIEVE I CAN WALK ACROSS TO THE NEXT BUILDING SAFELY~?" and the crowd responded zealously, "YES WE BELIEVE~!!!" with this, the tightrope walker began walking across. before long, he made it over to the other side of the building and the crowd cheered and applauded, "WOO HOO~ YEAH~!!! HURRAY~!!!"
at the other side of the building, the tightrope walker pushed out a wheelbarrow and shouted to the crowd again, "DO YOU BELIEVE I CAN PUSH THIS WHEELBARROW ACROSS~?" again, the crowd shouted back, "YES WE DO~!!!" the tightrope walker repeated, "DO YOU BELIEVE I CAN PUSH IT ACROSS SAFELY~?" again, the crowd responded excitedly, "YES WE BELIEVE~!!!" with this, the tightrope walker shouted, "OK! SINCE YOU BELIEVE IN ME, ONE OF YOU COME UP AND SIT IN THIS WHEELBARROW AND I'LL PUSH YOU ACROSS!" at this moment, the crowd went silent. no one stirred. no one made any noise.
many people say they believe in God but saying is easy. when you say you believe in your God, do you really?
