cynicism for singaporeans goes on

a few months ago, creative sued apple for infringing its intellectual property right by using the hierarchical interface structure and apple counter-sued creative for using an interface in the first place.
in the wake of such an issue, i have friends who began laughing and mocking creative for not knowing its limits, bringing such a huge company to court. i didn't laugh or mock creative but i have to admit, i had my doubts about creative's tactics. i didn't think they were going to come off a winner though creative is itself a huge company. so what makes this difference in perception of the two? i believe its simply because creative is a local company.
2-3 months down the road, creative has been compensated US$100 million by apple. how about that? open your minds singaporeans. i'm opening mine.
